Online Poker Cheating Software

In February of 2006 I ran across an astonishing online poker cheating software advertisement about PokerBot Pro that promised to make me so much money I would not be able to spend it quick enough. Several years have passed since I visited that site and I want to put the developer of PokerBot Pro on warning, that we here at Learn to Win Holdem expose such frauds and scandulous ads. If you have visited his site you will notice his sales pitch to the unknowing and novice poker player. I want to cover some of his fraudulent sales tactics. Here are a couple of them:

Poker Bot Pro is a completely unique, totally ingenious, 100% guaranteed, money-making Poker Bot. It's a fully functional, push and go software application that will go completely undetected, and take down pot after pot. For the first time ever YOU can get your hands on what the others only talk about and PRAY do not exist - an online Poker playing computer program that crushes its human opponents... Again and Again and Again!

Remarkable, isn't it? If you read his drawn out account it gets even better. Let us go over some of the high spots.

He says that, "If you are averaging less then $100 an hour playing online poker..." He is basically insinuating you are wasting your valuable time. Let us see: an average of $100 an hour is an average of $800 a day, which is an average of $4,000 a week, which boils down to $200,000 per year, if you decide to take a two-week vacation. So, let us make sure we understand what he is saying. He is saying that $200,000 per year is an income you should not be too happy with. Do you make that kind of money at your regular job? At any rate, his poker bot can make you much more than that so you can "...earn a GREAT living from online poker..." instead of, I guess, wasting your time making a measly $200,000 per year playing poker on your own.

He also says that, "You do not need to endure another losing night at the table, watching in disbelief as you get robbed of another pot by bad beats and inferior players," and that, "...no more worthless books on poker 'theory'..." and that it is a, "...push and go Poker Bot that will go undetected, and take down pot after pot!" and that it is able to, "...process millions of complex mathematical calculations per second playing on your behalf..."

Amazing! It does all that, ha. However, there is more. Here is the laughable part. The software developer claims to be also a client. He says that he uses his own bot for his own poker playing and that the wickedly clever little piece of software makes him a ton of moolah. Now I don't want to mis-quote him, so why don't I just quote him from his own site. Here it is...

Just LOOK AT THE AMAZING RESULTS from just one of my poker accounts. This particular one was funded with about $400 3 months ago. It now holds over $45,000. You do the math!

Did you catch that last part of his sales pitch? He says, "You do the math!" Well, okay let's do the math! I have a calculator right here, so complicated mathematical computations should not be problematic.

Therefore, if he started with $400 and ended up with $46,982.93 after 3 months, which means he made $46,982.93 minus $400, which is a total of $46,582.93 in profit, in 3 months. If the poker bot made $46,582.93 in 3 months, how much is he going to make in a year? Let's do the math. There are 12 month in a year, so, according to my calculations, 12 divided by 3 is 4, which means I have to multiply $46,582.93 by 4 to find out how much he would make in a year. How much is that...? It comes up to a total of $186,331.72 per year.

Great! Let's buy this thing... Oh, wait! How much, again? $186,331.72 per year? However, isn't that less than the 200 grand we talked about at the beginning?

What is wrong with this picture?

Any person with an IQ high enough to light a match should ask a couple of obvious questions. If this system is such a moneymaker, why is he selling it? In addition, what happens if ALL online poker players start using his PokerBot Pro?

These questions are in line with the usual questions people should ask when offered a deal that is too good to be true. Moreover, historically, all "deals" which seem too good to be true always turn out to be a fraud.

His system is in fact nothing more than a rip-off, a fraud, a scam. What his ad fails to mention is the fact that many poker sites have simple countermeasures against poker bots. One such countermeasure is the use of CAPTCHA image certification. This has become a universal system used on many sites (even on our site) to stop SPAM bots. It consists of a gif image that contains hard-to-read random text combined with a text-box verification field asking the player to enter the same text into the text box.

However, his online poker cheating software does not claim to be a cheating poker bot. It is just supposed to play perfect poker and he claims to be making money when used against human opposition.

While visiting his site in February of 2006 I could not help but notice the following sales pitch, at the bottom of their page:

P.P.S. Don't forget that I will only release Poker Bots until February 20, 2006 and then they will be gone forever.

Now I was curious to know what would happen after February 20,2006. I checked out the Poker Bot Pro site a couple of days (June 18, 2008). He now says he will withdraw his offer on June 20, 2008. Listen, this poker bot is nothing but a rip off and I trust that no one reading this article has or will experience this RIP OFF!
