Summary: Overall Score: star4halfred (1K)4/5

Carbon Poker is definitely one of the newer online poker sites, but it is also one of the more promising ones in comparison to other recently released poker rooms. Carbon Poker was designed based on the Poker.com skin, and is designed to be a reincarnated version since Poker.com cannot advertise in the United States. In other words, Carbon Poker is referred to as the new Poker.com by many players. This software is superb in that it is visually appealing, fast and flexible. It also comes bundled with all of the filters and functions that you could ever dream of, and Blackjack and Backgammon bundled in as well. Carbon Poker is also known for featuring very soft competition, and for offering a wide variety of games including some rather rare games like 5 Card Draw and Razz. The traffic rates are still relatively low, however, so the games here are not all together very competitive yet. Right now Carbon Poker is significantly lacking in tournaments and promotions, but this will likely change when traffic picks up

Software: Overall Score: stars5 (1K)4/5

Carbon Poker is using the Poker.com network software, or at least a perfected version of it. This room may not have much of a status built for itself yet, but it is based on the highest quality software that you could think of, which is based fully on a flash module allowing it to be low-weighing and resizable. Aside from just looking superb, Carbon Poker also offers everything that you could ask for in features including custom chat icons, excellent lobby filters and player notes. This table may not be quite as customizable as other poker rooms, it is still an excellent piece of software with little to complain about.

Traffic: Overall Score: stars5 (1K)3.5/5

The Carbon Poker online poker room is a member of a very small, very new network. Despite this, however, there is a lot more action going on here than you would initially expect. Both real and play money poker players are coming on during peak hours, with logins climbing to 8000 or more easily. These numbers are more than acceptable, especially with large amounts of players going to Texas Hold'em, Omaha, and even some of the other lesser known games. A majority of the players logging in are coming specifically for ring games, however the frequent freerolls are also gaining a lot of both new and pro players into the tournament tables as well.

Tournaments: Overall Score: stars5 (1K)5/5

If you are looking for satellites to the real poker action like the World Poker Tour and the World Series of Poker, then Carbon Poker is probably not the place for you to go. However, Carbon Poker does offer a number of exciting tournaments, though its lower player count does limit these somewhat. Either way, you do have daily freerolls to take advantage of, some of which range as high as $50,000. Carbon Poker also offers tournaments that offer up to a few thousand dollars in guaranteed cash prizes which is reason enough to check it out.

Game Variety: Overall Score: star4 (1K) 3.5/5

In 2005, the Poker.com software was significantly behind in variety in comparison to its competitors. Only Omaha poker and Texas Hold'em poker were available. In 2006, however, the software saw the addition of 7 Card Stud and Hi / Lo, Razz, 5 Card Stud, 5 Card Draw, Triple Draw and Budagi, which is a form of Chinese poker.

Soft Competition: Overall Score: fishlogosmall (1K)fishlogosmall (1K)fishlogosmall (1K)fishlogosmall (1K)4/5

The competition at Carbon Poker is usually quite soft. Poker rookies and players with small stacks usually come to Carbon Poker to take advantage of the freerolls, and then end up at the regular poker tables losing cash shortly thereafter. Even if you go as high as $2/$4 buy ins, you will often find yourself at tables with more than 55% seen flops, which is significant considering the stakes. The lower that you go with your buy in, the higher the number will be in terms of seen flops. While this is not the softest level of competition available, it is also quite far from the average stack.

Sign Up Bonus: Overall Score: star4 (1K) 4/5

As a new member in the Carbon Poker online poker room, you can receive a wealthy bonus worth $1000 with a match of as much as 200%. This is definitely not a bad way to get started, especially in a poker room with so many potential fish.

Loyalty Rewards: Overall Score: star4 (1K) 4/5

You can earn comp points as a Carbon Poker player. Comp points, which is short for Complimentary Points allows you to receive points as a loyal member of the poker room. Unfortunately, there are not that many rewards yet, only offering a few promotions and entries into tournaments. This aspect of the poker room must also see some growth.

Promotions: Overall Score: star4 (1K) 4.5/5

Carbon Poker is still quite obviously in its growing phase. Before it can offer many heavy duty promotions, more players are going to have to be attracted. For right now you can definitely take advantage of the $1000 new player bonus as well as regular freerolls, comp points and a Royal Flush bonus that guarantees up to a 100x bonus every time you hit a royal flush with your pocket cards.

Support: Overall Score: stars5 (1K)4/5

The only type of support available here is e-mail support. While this may be the most popular form of support in many poker rooms online, having live chat or telephone support definitely doesn't hurt. The response time is very accurate and quite fast, with most responses coming in within a few hours.

Deposit and Cashout: Overall Score: stars5 (1K)4/5
