Jennifer Tilly History, profile, and background

Jennifer Tilly was born Jennifer Chan in Harbor City Louisiana. Her parents divorced when she was five years old. Her mother then remarried and moved the family to Canada, where Tilly attended high school. She began her career in acting at Stephens College in Missouri through their theater program.

Acting Career

Tilly has played many roles during her career including the voice of a killer doll in the Bride of Chucky. She got her breakthrough role on the hit film The Fabulous Baker Boys, this role was specially written for her. Most know her as an accomplished actress and Jennifer Tilly's Academy Awards nomination for her role in Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway. And her semi- regular voice-over role on Family Guy. More recently, she has joined the ranks of female poker players and turned her talents to a new passion. This is how she met her now boyfriend Phil, "the Unabomber" Laak an up and coming famous poker player.

Poker Career

Currently, Jennifer Tilly is making her way through the ranks of female poker players. She has won over four hundred thousand dollars and is well on her way to becoming one of Hollywood’s premier famous poker players.

Winning her first World Series of Poker bracelet in 2005 in the Ladies No Limit Texas Hold Em Event, Jennifer Tilly beat out six hundred other female poker players to take the title and over one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. When interviewed she proudly displayed the WSOP bracelet and was quoted as saying it was better than an Oscar! Though new to the game Jennifer went on that same year to win the World Poker Tour Ladies Invitational. She will be a force to be reckoned with in the world of famous poker players. She is currently ranked 29th out of fifty famous poker players according to earnings and she has only been playing professionally for three years! Although only one woman has ever reached, the final table at the World Series of Poker main event do not think that female poker players are second rate to their male counter parts. These women are serious about their sport and have the earnings to back it up. In a current list of the top female poker players by earnings the top seven spots are over a million dollars!
